Aarti Chopra is the founder and president of Be Sanskriti Legacy, a social impact organization that promotes humanitarian solutions through traditional cultural arts and education. The organization uniquely brings together government leaders, policymakers, nonprofit and business leaders, and community stakeholders to create meaningful social change.
In January 2025, Aarti became the first American-raised Indian to receive a South Asian American Woman Leader Award for her innovative model integrating business, arts, culture, and philanthropy. Her professional background includes extensive experience as a special education teacher and advocate for vulnerable student populations, along with more than 32 years as an accomplished Indian classical dancer. Until 2016, she was recognized as one of Southern California’s leading performers.
Raised in a family rooted in hospitality and service, Aarti was deeply influenced by her grandparents and mother, Dr. Asha Chopra, whose home welcomed all with warmth, Indian chai, and cherished culinary traditions. From a young age, Aarti and her family volunteered with numerous philanthropic and community organizations, a commitment she continues today. Despite personal challenges growing up in divorced and blended families, she embodies the resilience, work ethic, and service-minded values passed down through generations.
British-born and American-raised, Aarti is proudly grounded in both cultures. Her mission is to build the Chopra family legacy by cultivating a conscious community that promotes wellness, peace, unity, and social responsibility through small business and traditional Indian artistic heritage. Be Sanskriti Legacy’s long-term vision includes hosting annual multicultural events showcasing dance, music, fashion, martial arts, and more. In April 2024, she launched her signature production, “The Ancient Indian Goddess,” with the goal of developing it into the first Broadway-level, multicultural theatrical production dedicated to advancing social causes.
