About Us

The National Hispanic Business Women Association (NHBWA) is a nonprofit organization based in Santa Ana, California, dedicated to empowering women in business, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Founded in 1997, NHBWA creates opportunities for women to grow professionally, strengthen their businesses, expand their networks, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.

NHBWA’s mission is to encourage women to develop their business and professional endeavors through education, mutual support, business referrals, information sharing, networking, and leadership development. The organization brings together entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals, community leaders, and emerging leaders in a supportive environment where women can connect, learn, collaborate, and grow.

Through educational seminars, professional development workshops, networking events, mentorship opportunities, and special programs, NHBWA provides members with practical resources and connections to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. Its mentorship program connects women with experienced professionals, or “madrinas,” who provide guidance and support for business and career development.

NHBWA is also committed to investing in the next generation of leaders. Its scholarship program provides educational assistance to students pursuing higher education, helping deserving students overcome financial barriers and pursue their academic and career aspirations. The organization has awarded hundreds of educational scholarships since its founding.

Signature initiatives and events include Tacos en Tacones, Women of the Year awards, professional development programs, networking opportunities, and its annual awards and scholarship celebration. These programs recognize outstanding women leaders while creating opportunities for connection, inspiration, and community impact.

NHBWA believes that empowered women empower others. By bringing together women from diverse backgrounds and industries, the organization strengthens the local business community, encourages entrepreneurship, promotes leadership, and creates pathways for future generations to succeed.
